Our Bees
Spring Creek Bee Farm is located in Barber County, Kansas, about three miles west of Medicine Lodge. The apiary began in 2014, shortly after Brian and Lisa Withrow moved to Lisa’s family’s farm. Spring Creek operates a sustainable apiary. Our bees live their entire lives on the Kansas prairie.
OUR HOME
One day an out of state visitor at the farm remarked, “Kansas is really flat!” Brian responded, “Kansas isn’t flat. It’s level.” Actually were we live and work it is neither flat nor level. Barber County is the gateway to the Kansas Red Hills, one of the most scenic places in the world.
OUR Recipes
Many of our customers use honey rather than refined sugar as a sweetener. Honey has more vitamins and minerals. It is sweeter than refined sugar. And, it raises blood sugar slowly. This last advantage is why many of our diabetic friends use honey as their primary sweetener.
